Advocacy Forum for the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War

Transnational Discussion for World Peace

The WARP Summit 2016 began with the Advocacy Forum for the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) which brought together heads of state, heads of UN-affiliated agencies and organizations, and representatives of civic organizations to discuss effective strategies and practical plans of action for the following objectives:

i) to raise awareness and interest in the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War among intergovernmental organizations, governments, and the public.

ii)to urge each sector to support and contribute to the implementation of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War.

Religious Leaders Unite Under Peace and Truth

Part I. Religious Leaders Meeting for Solidarity in Truth

During the first part of the conference, participants saw the progress on scripture dialogue through the WARP Office meetings and were reminded of the role that religious leaders play.

Part II. Dialogue Scripture

167 religious leaders who had previously participated at HWPL’s WARP Office meetings in their respective countries held panel discussions. Religious leaders representing various faiths such as Greek Orthodox, Anglican Church, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Sikhism participated as panels. Each panel discussed in regards to the following three questions on what constitutes a trustworthy scripture.

High Level Meeting for the Development and Adoption of the DPCW & Spreading a Culture of Peace in the DPCW

Built on mutual respect and cooperation for the international coexistence in a community of peace, the meeting gathered the world’s leaders, who were separated into three groups based on their respective areas of expertise. All HWPL International Law Peace Committee Meetings began with an explanation by committee members regarding the core principles of the DPCW, as well as a presentation of the possibility of developing the Declaration. At the Panel Discussion, specifically, the necessity of multi-level cooperation by international leaders, nations, and civil society for the introduction of the DPCW to the UN was emphasized.

Press Conference of the 2nd Annual Commemoration of the September 18th WARP Summit

On the first day of the WARP Summit 2016, press conference was held with correspondents, reporters, and presidents from 93 press around the world. During the conference, journalists asked questions on how to create the environment for peace with the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW), and the answers clearly explained the peace initiatives the HWPL operates with global leaders and organizations.

Media Forum for Advocacy of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War

Approximately 30 journalists and editors were in attendance at the Media Forum to discuss action plans in their expertise of reporting and press coverage. The action plans lay out possible ways to quickly and accurately spread peace-building news of implementing international law and promoting WARP office meetings throughout the world.

DAY 2 (SEP. 18, 2016)

The new era of peace resonated when the peace builders walked along the path from the gate of Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light at the Grand Festival of Peace at the 2nd Annual Commemoration of the September 18th WARP Summit.

Grand Festival of Peace

The new era of peace resonated when the peace builders walked along the path from the gate of Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light at the Grand Festival of Peace at the 2nd Annual Commemoration of the September 18th WARP Summit.

Passing over the past of violence that pervaded the globe, the peace walk by world leaders holding hands with children symbolized their covenant for dedication to the future of peace. The steps were strong foundation of making everlasting peace in our times for the dreams of children that can be pursued without limit. Followed by them were ceremonies of world culture of peace by members of HWPL.

DAY 3 (SEP. 19, 2016)

Conference for the Implementation of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War

Presenting Plan of Action and Resolution of IGOs, Governments, Public

While being attended by nearly 1,000 participants, the presentation of the precise plan of action for all sectors drew a practical approach to this year’s Summit’s goal: Advocacy of the global legislation of peace inspired by the DPCW.

The Conference gave great attention to the messages of the speakers, which called for enhanced cooperation with HWPL in promoting the involvement of all IGOs and NGOs and international communities to establish a legally binding document inspired by the DPCW.

The 2016 IWPG Network Forum was held under the theme of The Role of 3.6 Billion Women in Realizing Peace and Cessation of War. The forum was joined by approximately 1,000 female leaders from home and abroad. 109 new members from 16 countries were appointed to the IWPG Peace Committee which is set to promote IWPG peace works in their respective countries.

The 2016 IWPG Network Forum was held under the theme of The Role of 3.6 Billion Women in Realizing Peace and Cessation of War. The forum was joined by approximately 1,000 female leaders from home and abroad. 109 new members from 16 countries were appointed to the IWPG Peace Committee which is set to promote IWPG peace works in their respective countries.
